We only collect what we need to respond to you and run lessons:

• Full name, mobile number, email address and pick-up address or suburb.
• Booking enquiry form: the details above (as asked), your licence status (no permit / learner / test soon), preferred date and time, selected package, and any message you write.
• Contact form: your name, email and/or mobile number, and your message.
• Comments on client stories: your name, email (kept private, never shown publicly) and your comment. Comments are reviewed before they appear.
• Reactions: a random ID stored in your browser so we can count one reaction per visitor. It is not linked to your name.
• Technical data: basic data such as IP address and browser type, processed by our service providers for security and spam protection.
• Calls and text messages: if you call or text us, we keep what is needed to manage your lessons. These happen outside this website.

We do not ask for sensitive information through the website. Please don’t include licence numbers, payment card details or health information in your messages.

We plan to offer a login where learners can see their lesson history, progress and driving routes. When this launches, it will store your account details and lesson records (including routes driven). We will update this policy before it goes live.

• To contact you by phone, text or email about your lessons and bookings.
• To moderate comments and respond to feedback.
• To keep the website secure and prevent spam and abuse.
• To meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.

We may send you emails about our services, offers or news. We only do this with your consent, every email will say it is from us, and every email includes a way to unsubscribe. You can also opt out any time by emailing winstonsdrivingschool12@gmail.com. Lesson-related messages (confirmations, changes) are not marketing.

We don’t sell your personal information and we don’t share it with other businesses for their own use. To run the site we rely on:

• Google Firebase (Firestore database, Hosting, App Check and Authentication): stores form submissions, hosts the site and protects the database from abuse.
• Google reCAPTCHA: spam and bot protection on forms. Subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
• Google Maps: the map in our footer is loaded from Google.

We may disclose information where required by law or by a regulator.

Form submissions are stored in our Firebase database located in Australia. Some Google services (such as reCAPTCHA, App Check and content delivery for the site) may process limited technical data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure our providers handle your information appropriately.

We use cookies and browser storage. See our Cookie Policy for details and to change your settings.

We keep complete enquiries, contact details and lesson records for 3 years, after which they are deleted or de-identified. However, we will retain your name, email, and address indefinitely for our permanent records. Records we are legally required to keep for longer (for example financial and tax records) are kept for as long as the law requires.

Form data is sent over HTTPS and stored with access limited to authorised administrators. No system is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email winstonsdrivingschool12@gmail.com and we’ll respond within a reasonable time (usually within 30 days).

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, contact us first and we’ll try to fix it. If you’re still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Our lessons are for learners aged 16 and over. A learner under 18 needs the consent of a parent or guardian, and a parent or guardian should make the booking and use the forms on this website for them. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from anyone under 18 through this website.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
